Use caulking (silicone), thick plastic liner, or a cork to seal the bottom 1-5in of the container.

Sealing Existing Container Solutions
In climates that rain more than 1in per storm, drill a small hole (less than 1/4in) just below the bottom of the Oasis as shown.
Fill Tube: If growing bushy foliage, the fill tube might be difficult to locate once plant grows. Can be trimmed flush with container edge OR sticking out.
Float Stick: The stick should be trimmed so that it is AT or BELOW the fill tube when empty. Push down on the stick until it hits the bottom of the container and trim near the fill tube end.
